Whack: Super Lead Nearly Halved in One Day

Six more endorsements for Senator Obama so far today, with rumors of more before the sun goes down.

With the endorsements of Michael Cryor and Lauren Glover of Maryland, Kalyn Free of Oklahoma, and Barbara Currie, Todd Stroger, and Richard Daley of Illinois, Hillary's SD lead is down to 14.

And Marc Armbinder suggests that there are more to come later today, including one from a congressperson in either NC or IN.

McCain doesn't have a chance....  well, he has a chance, I suppose, just not a good one.

Re: Whack: Super Lead Nearly Halved in One Day (2.00 / 3)

Yeah, both candidates lead him by more than 10, and will easily out-raise him.

I bought this line when Kerry people used it to pressure Dean supporters.  This time, I'm sticking with the candidate I like rather than the one everyone's trying to convince me is more electable.

Look at each candidate's negatives. Obama has held back and has been explicit about it. We'll see differently in the fall.

I know the MDS SD's are today. But wasn't Richard Daley already announced. Are you sure he got 6 today?

Re: Whack: Super Lead Nearly Halved in One Day (none / 0)

Illinois does not officially select their add-ons until today, the information about who they were going to be was just leaked earlier.  In any case, it isn't terribly important which day we add them, the fact is Clinton's superdelegate lead is down to 15 now.

It's 15.5 I believe (none / 0)

if we're going by demconwatch's totals.  Maryland and Illinois haven't been updated yet, but the Free one is already in their total.

Re: It's 15.5 I believe (none / 0)

You're right. They're flocking so fast it's hard to keep up.

Re: It's 15.5 I believe (none / 0)

They apparently have 3 more DNC delegates for Obama than Demconwatch does.  I'm not dedicated enough to go through and figure out where the discrepancy is.  But good to see!

I think politico is already counting the IL add-ons.

Big SD surge for Obama on Wed (none / 0)

They will be falling all over themselves to endorse.

Re: Big SD surge for Obama on Wed (none / 0)

Yes, if he wins both Indiana and North Carolina but if he loses one or both they will not be. If he loses both look out below since he will be DONE!!!!

Re: Big SD surge for Obama on Wed (none / 0)

That's hard to figure, given that Clinton wasn't "DONE" after her string of losses in February.

Try another source.  The Illinois add-ons today are officially announced, which are three for Obama.  http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2 008/05/05/980587.aspx

"Obama is also expected to pick up the three Illinois add-on superdelegates today around 2:00 pm after the Illinois Democratic Party's committee meets to officially name the trio. "

Re: Whack: Super Lead Nearly Halved in One Day (2.00 / 1)

The 6 Supers for Barack Obama today are:
DNC Member Kalyn Free (Oklahoma)
DNC Member Muchael Cryor (Maryland)
DNC Member Lauren Dugas Glover (Maryland)
Add-On DNC Member Barbara Flynn Currie (Illinois)
Add-On DNC Member Todd Stroger (Illinois)
Add-On DNC Member Richard Daley (Illinois)

On Ambinder touting a Congressional Endorsement:
Obama will hold a HUGE get out the Vote Rally in Indianapolis so my guess it's either Donnelly or Ellsworth if indeed he's rolling an Congress Endorsement.

Re: Whack: Super Lead Nearly Halved in One Day (2.00 / 1)

Woah. I didn't think he'd get DNC members. That's interesting.

Remember, all of them have a pick. They just aren't certain/ready enough to make it official.

Superdelegates without a pick are like Sports Fans without a favorite team. (Quoting Mr. Super)

I doubt the Indiana Congressman super comes through. It's like Hillary supporters expecting Heath Shuler today. It's too late to make a difference.

Re: Whack: Super Lead Nearly Halved in One Day (2.00 / 1)

Great news, by next week he will lead in SD's and soon after will have the majority of  delegates.

Then the Nancy Pelosi club will swing and that will open the floodgates.

The tide is going out on the Clinton's

Re: Whack: Super Lead Nearly Halved in One Day (none / 0)

The only way this happens is if he either wins both Indiana and North Carolina or Loses Indiana by a close margin less than 5% and wins NC by more than 10%
